Lending / Reference

Books are lent to registered members of the NLS. Adults are allowed a maximum of three books and juniors are allowed a maximum of two. Registration is open all people resident in Malawi.  This section encompasses the Refarence Library which boast of its wide range of collection such as Malawiana collection, World Bank Collection, and many other information materials.

Publishing

Promotion of a literate environment is one of major activities that the NLS has embarked on. The Werengani Series which is a series of children's books, is one of the main tools for this campaign. The series boasts over twenty five titles for children. Other tools include production of reading promotion posters, establishment of reading clubs and participation in various reading campaigns both locally and internationally.

Extramural Services

For those living far from its full-time services points, the Board operates Rural Library Services and School Library Services.
